Description and Basic Information ::
|
| The Opera Company of Philadelphia is the only grand opera venue in the city, and has been entertaining fans of the fine arts since 1975. It has a long track record of providing amazing productions which cast both seasoned veterans and talented newcomers. The company is so adept at identifying new talent thanks in part to their partnership with the Curtis Institute of Music Opera Theatre and the Academy of Vocal Arts, two of the finest institutions in the country. Offering five different shows each year, and with plans underway to build a center that would cover all aspects of opera and its works, it shows tremendous potential for the future. The 1999-2000 season offers some strong performances, among them Cinderella, Tosca, and a Greatest Hits Concert featuring past highlights. For ticket information or to find out specific times and dates, don't hesitate to call them at the number listed above, or send e-mail inquiries to tix@operaphilly.com. |
