:: Description and Basic Information ::
Philadelphia’s Civil War Library and Museum is a dream come true for any and all war and memorabilia buffs. It’s surprisingly well maintained and packed to the rafters with Union-related Civil War items. No trip to the City of Brotherly Love is complete without seeing first-hand what this often-overlooked museum has to offer.

Some of the featured attractions include two life masks of Abraham Lincoln, and dress uniforms and weapons belonging to Generals Grant and Meade. Other items include various weaponry, actual war uniforms, and personal items of Civil War officers.

Even those with only a casual interest in the Civil War will be interested in the Civil War Library and Museum. The attractions truly cater to the average person and do not require you to be an expert in order to appreciate the items within. Even casual visitors will walk away with a greater understanding of the events that took place only a hundred and fifty years ago, and dedicated followers won’t feel slighted by the experience, either. Of particular interest is the museum’s library, which contains over twelve thousand volumes pertaining to the War Between the States. Do yourself a favor and make plans to visit the Civil War Library and Museum; you won’t be disappointed.
